Results of Big Rock and Hatteras Marlin Club Tournament

The Big Rock was great fun for our Spencer Team and those that fished with us. We were trailing behind the last 2 days of fishing and we tried to catch up on the last day. On Saturday the Sizzler released 2 blue ones which sadly were not big enough to bring in , but did win them the daily release for the day. Congratulations to all the winners.

The Hatteras Marlin Club Tournament started out good for our fishing team, but fizzled out as the week went on. We caught 1 blue marlin on Monday and 1 sailfish on Tuesday. We will see you in August for Ocean city and Pirates Cove.

Big Rock Update

The Spencer 37 was finished in time for Big Rock and has fished its 4 days. On Tues. they caught the 2nd biggest dolphin in the daily division, weighing 37.2 lbs. Congratulation to the Starling Marine team. The Sizzler has also fished its four days in the tournament and has seen no action, however they have paid to re-enter the tournament. For the next two days we have another chance to bring home a fish big enough to beat the winning fish so far, which is a 439 lb blue brought in by the Figment. Good luck Paul and Daniel we're rooting for you.

Our new 37' Spencer is in the last stages of production and could possibly be fishing in the Big Rock. Come check out our newest addition to the family in Morehead City, NC - June 6-13. Good Luck to all.

Hatteras Village Offshore Open

This was the first tournament of the summer and Spencer Yacht's kicked it off with a win. Sticking to Spencer tradition, Paul and Daniel pulled off another victory on the last day of the Hatteras Village tournament. Daniel said they caught 3 out of 5 marlins and on Thursday only 3 boats fished so the 12 lb dolphin they caught was the biggest daily catch of dolphin. It never fails though as the time comes down to the wire the boys ultimately kick it into gear. On Friday they released 1 Blue and 2 in a row on Saturday, which lead them to their winning position with 3 marlin releases. Congratulations to the Spencer Yachts Team. See you at Big Rock.

Tournament Time

Well it's that time of year again, and we are excited to let it begin. Our first tournament starts this week as we fish in the Hatteras Village Tournamet. Paul and Daniel left Monday and the fishing starts tomorrow. If I can keep in touch with Daniel, I'll try to keep you posted on how the fishing is. Good Luck to all.

Miami Boat Show

Come see us next week at the Miami Boat Show. The show starts Feb. 12th and runs through the 16th. We will be in slip 101-showing the MIMI which won first place in the Pirates Cove Tournamant last summer by catching the state record blue marlin. We will also have the drawings of our new 37 foot boat, which is now in production. We hope to see you there.

Going Green

We are excited to announce that our company now has 3 "green" boats under construction. Instead of wood built hulls these particular boats are made with a composite of closed cell foam and fiberglass. In addition to this type of construcion each of these boats will also be installed with the new IPS system from Volvo. Combining the lightweight materials with this system from Volvo will increase the fuel efficiency of these boats. It will take less horsepower to achieve the same desired cruise speed that Spencer Yachts is known for. Our goal in this endeavor is to use 45 gallons/hr while cruising at a speed of 30 kts. The 3 boats currently being built range in size from 37 to 57 ft. For photos of these boats in production check out our web site.
